Once served with a lawsuit, Florida courts require you provide an “answer” to give your side of the story.  If you fail to do so within 20 days of service of the lawsuit, the Plaintiff (party suing you) can obtain a default.  Ideally, it is best to abide by the rules and answer within the given time.  Even if you’ve waited beyond the 20 days allotted to “answer”, your legal rights do not end.  Contact me for a free consultation.
